    Abstract: Celebrating a decade of cultural stewardship, the DSPPA Museum unveiled its 10th Anniversary Celebration and Special Collections Exhibition, showcasing remarkable artifacts and highlighting the enduring legacy of sound, history, and traditional culture.


    DSPPA Museum 10th Anniversary Celebration

    On May 30, DSPPA Museum officially opened its 10th Anniversary Celebration together with a Special Collections Exhibition, commemorating ten years of dedication to cultural preservation and public education

    The celebration welcomed representatives from government agencies, museums, cultural heritage organizations, and the arts community. Distinguished guests gathered to commemorate this significant milestone and explore the museum’s achievements over the past decade.

    Opening Ceremony and Guest Addresses

    The anniversary event began with a formal opening ceremony. The host introduced the attending leaders and honored guests, expressing appreciation for their support and participation.

    Ms. Li Li, former Director of the Publicity Department of Liwan District and currently Counselor to the Guangdong Provincial Government as well as Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Association for the Promotion of Cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, delivered the keynote address. She congratulated the DSPPA Museum on its tenth anniversary and praised its ongoing efforts in preserving Lingnan cultural traditions and protecting valuable historical artifacts.She also encouraged the museum to further strengthen its role as a cultural platform, promoting education, heritage awareness, and community engagement while contributing to the development of cultural initiatives.

    Following her remarks, Mr. Wang Heng, Director of the DSPPA Museum, reflected on the museum’s ten-year journey and growth. He also introduced several featured exhibits from the Special Collections Exhibition, sharing the historical significance and collecting stories behind these treasured artifacts, allowing guests to gain deeper insight into their cultural value.

    Expert Lecture: Understanding Traditional Art

    Professor Yu Li from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts presented an engaging lecture focused on one of the exhibition’s most celebrated works, Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix, a twelve-panel silk painting with a gold-leaf background.Through detailed analysis of the artwork’s techniques, stylistic features, and symbolic meanings, Professor Yu offered visitors a richer understanding of traditional Chinese painting and its cultural significance.

    Preserving Craftsmanship and Intangible Heritage

    Master Zhang Minhui, a nationally recognized inheritor of the traditional ivory carving craft and recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance, introduced the ivory carving masterpieces displayed at the exhibition.Drawing from decades of artistic experience, he explained the intricate carving techniques and cultural importance of this traditional art form, highlighting the role of craftsmanship in safeguarding China’s intangible cultural heritage.

    Guests Viewing Ivory Carving Collections

    Alongside the exhibition, several academic exchange activities were organized, including the Guangzhou Thirteen Hongs Repatriated Cultural Relics Seminar and the Thirteen Hongs Cultural Heritage Research Forum.Experts, historians, and researchers participated in in-depth discussions on the historical significance of the Thirteen Hongs, as well as the preservation, study, and cultural value of repatriated artifacts. These exchanges further promoted scholarship and collaboration in the field of regional heritage research.

    Exhibition Tour and Cultural Exploration
