DSPPA upgraded the sound system at Huadu Dongfeng Sports Center, ensuring high-quality audio for YueBA home games.
As the home court of the Guangzhou team, Huadu Dongfeng Sports Center features a main arena of over 20,000 square meters with more than 7,000 seats. The large-scale structure and dense audience layout presented significant acoustic challenges.To address these challenges, DSPPA conducted on-site analysis and delivered a customized sound reinforcement solution for the venue.
On May 16, the 8th round of the Guangdong City Basketball League (YueBA) saw Guangzhou defeat Jiangmen 86–62 at Huadu Dongfeng Sports Center, securing its seventh consecutive victory in its first home appearance at the venue this season.

Ahead of the match, DSPPA completed a comprehensive upgrade of the venue’s sound reinforcement system, delivering professional and intelligent audio coverage to ensure clear and stable performance throughout the event.

Large Venue, High Demands
As the home court of the Guangzhou team, Huadu Dongfeng Sports Center features a main arena of over 20,000 square meters with more than 7,000 seats. The large-scale structure and dense audience layout presented significant acoustic challenges:
● Complex reverberation caused by the dome structure and reflective surfaces
● Wide-area coverage requirements across all seating zones
●High system stability demands for continuous sports events

Precision-Zoned Sound Design
To address these challenges, DSPPA conducted on-site analysis and delivered a customized sound reinforcement solution for the venue.
The system adopts a suspended surround line array layout installed along the arena’s ceiling catwalk. Dozens of loudspeaker clusters were deployed, each consisting of line array speakers, subwoofers, and full-range speakers.

How the Acoustic Challenges Were Addressed
This design enables precise zoned coverage across both spectator and competition areas:
●Line array speaker system provides focused coverage for audience seating, minimizing reverberation and improving speech clarity
●Full-range speakers deliver supplementary reinforcement for the court area, ensuring clear announcements for players and officials
●Subwoofers enhance low-frequency impact, creating a more immersive atmosphere during key game moments such as player entrances

The LA1420+LA1420S Line Array Speaker System and D6566 Two-Way Full-Range Speaker used in this project are both certified in the German EASE acoustic simulation database, ensuring reliable system design and accurate acoustic performance prediction.

This Professional Two-Way Full-Range Speaker delivers clear and powerful audio with wide frequency response, making it well-suited for sound reinforcement in large sports venues.

The solution integrates a 32-channel digital mixer, an 8-channel intelligent power sequence controller, true diversity wireless microphones, and audio isolators.

The audio isolators eliminate grounding noise in complex venue power environments, while the wireless microphones ensure stable, interference-free transmission in large-capacity venues. The power sequence controller provides safe system startup and shutdown, preventing equipment damage from power surges. Together, these devices form a stable and intelligent audio control system.
